Celtic are currently battling it out with Bayer Leverkusen having just won two straight Europa League Group G games. Celtic travelled to Germany having boosted their hopes of reaching the Europa League knockout stages with victories in their previous two matches, both against Ferencvaros.

Leverkusen beat Celtic 4-0 in September’s reverse fixture, the Hoops are in a good vein of form after Saturday’s League Cup semi-final win over St Johnstone. Before tonight Celtic trailed second-placed Real Betis by a point with two matches to play and they were four points behind group leaders Leverkusen.

No matter what the result tonight the Hoops are already assured European football next year as they have already qualified for the Europa Conference League. Realistically, they will need to win their last two remaining games to stay in the Europa League in the new year.

We just hit the halfway mark and after Bayer scored from a corner after 15 minutes you could be forgiven for assuming the worse. Instead, Celtic levelled things up just before halftime with this audacious Juranovic penalty after Kyogo was wiped out in the box by the Leverkusen keeper.
