NEIL LENNON is still hopeful of a deal being done for David Turnbull after the Celtic manager confirmed the deal has been held up by an injury issue. Turnbull was set to put an end to the transfer saga last Friday but a medical flagging a knee injury which will require surgery stopped the deal from going through.

The two clubs are now locked in talks over what happens next with the player’s future hanging in the balance. Celtic have been chasing the player for over a month and had a bid accepted for David just over two weeks ago. The transfer is dragging on and it’s not good for anyone at this point.

The Motherwell star turned down a lucrative offer from Norwich to sign for Celtic and with the deal still to be done, the Celtic manager has reacted to suggestions that it’s off completely.

When his interview ran on Sky Sports News earlier this evening, this is what Lennon had to say:

“We are still in negotiation. Obviously, there has been a little bit of a hitch on the medical side of things but both clubs are still in negotiation.

“It’s not one that you are writing off yet though?” asked the SSN reporter. “Absolutely not, no” the Irishman replied.

All going well Turnbull and Jullien could be new Celtic teammates in the very near future.
