He wasn’t used at the weekend against Motherwell but Celtic B regular Owen Moffat is still training with the first team this week.

The young winger had a good pre-season and has been making steady progress under Tommy McIntyre with the B team in the Lowland League.

After more injury call-offs, Moffat was left out of the B team at the weekend and trained with the first team, leading many to think he would be part of the squad against Motherwell. Owen didn’t make the squad for the game at Celtic Park, but he’s still training with the senior team as Ange Postecoglou seeks options.

There’s every chance Owen could make the trip to Ross County as an alternative in case of more injuries in the lead up to the game. There’s also every chance he could make the bench on his own merit.

The winger has a lot of potential and given Celtic are short of attacking options, he could do a job in the interim.
