Celtic striker Adam Idah has praised the team’s resilience and ability to secure results amid challenging fixtures, reflecting on a “positive” week that included a 4-1 league win over Hearts and a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Club Brugge in the Champions League.
Idah acknowledged the disappointment of not taking all three points against Brugge but stressed the importance of recognising the positives on Celtic TV:
“It’s been a positive week with the league win against Hearts and then the game on Wednesday night. It was disappointing the Brugge game, but you have to take the positives from the game. Taking a point from that game is a decent point at the end of the day; Brugge is a good side. So a good week. ”
The Irish international also highlighted Celtic’s knack for responding to adversity, particularly during underwhelming first halves, which seems to have happened a few times this season:
“It says a lot about us this season; there have been times we haven’t played well, especially in the first halves. To be a great team, we need to come back and show the character in the team, and we’ve done that really well this season, not just in the last couple of weeks.”
Idah’s contributions have been vital in recent weeks, with his goals providing Celtic an additional attacking dimension alongside Kyogo. His form has added depth and versatility to Brendan Rodgers’ forward options, a crucial asset as the season progresses.
Celtic now turn their attention to Saturday’s Premiership clash with Ross County at Parkhead, where Idah’s confidence and form will be pivotal in maintaining their position at the top of the table. With Celtic’s Champions League hopes still alive and a domestic campaign in full swing, Idah’s performances could be instrumental in ensuring the team’s continued success.
The Irish striker could be in for a start this week, with Brendan Rodgers expected to make a few changes to his starting selection.
