Celtic SLO John Paul Taylor is the direct link between the Celtic fans and the Celtic board.

JP does an incredible amount of work for the support and does his best to help fans find resolutions to queries and complaints.

Over and above that, JP is a good Celtic man who isn’t exactly in the loop with the board when it comes to the major decisions.

We’ve see in recent times on The official Celtic SLO Twitter, the fan in him can be as disgruntled as the rest of us when the club refuses to engage.

The infamous January review being the big one. JP was inundated with questions as to when this would be concluded — but his answer to supporters was more in hope rather than expectation.

The major outstanding issue of this season for fans is the word Celtic touted at the start of the season ‘added value’.

Supporters were promised added value after shelling out hundreds of pounds on a below par 90 second delay online stream.

The only ‘added value’ the club can say they’ve delivered is the Ross County cup tie. Even then, many who already subscribed to Premier Sports already paid their fee to watch that game live on TV. Many opting to watch it straight from the broadcaster so they weren’t suffering through a 90 second delay.

There’s been nothing notable and as the season winds down , Celtic fans are rightfully asking where is their added value.

The question was put to the Celtic SLO who again spoke about hope more than expectation.

Celtic tweaked their terms and conditions during the last season ticket campaign so supporters weren’t legally due any compensation if they didn’t get back in the stadium.

However, the club have a moral responsibility to reward or compensate fans for their loyalty. Will wee see it in the renewal pack? We just don’t know.

Gone are the days where I will just pour my money into the club regardless of how they treat the support. I know there are plenty out there who will always renew no matter what and they wear that stance like a badge of honour, I get it, I used to be like that. However, there needs to be measured critics of the club within the support or they will continue to take us for granted.

There has been a move by Celtic shared and the Celtic trust for the club to reward fans by giving them shares. It would be a cost effective way for fans to be rewarded and it would give so many a stake in the club.

Added value? Right now we’ve not even got our money’s worth.

  1. JPT isn’t a direct link. He ignores questions unless they are simple. Tough questions about how the club have treated the fans are regularly ignored.
