Recent reports from South America suggest that Celtic winger Luis Palma is contemplating a move away this winter due to limited playing time under manager Brendan Rodgers.

Citing a story from Honduran outlet Crono Metro, these reports have gained traction after highlighting Palma’s struggle to secure a regular starting position. The 24-year-old has made only three substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season and his sole starting appearance was a disappointing showing against Falkirk in the Premier Sports Cup.

These reports appear to stem from a headline in The Scottish Sun, “Palmed Off: Celtic Star Tipped for January Exit,” which quotes pundit Michael Stewart. However, Stewart does not claim insider knowledge; his comments are purely speculative.

In contrast, CeltsAreHere understands that Palma is determined to earn his place at Celtic and remain at the club. Despite recent performances and some social media posts, Palma’s commitment to staying and competing at a Champions League level is still strong.

The winger has really struggled for Celtic in recent times. This time last year, he had some form and was performing well and scoring in the Champions League, but he’s nowhere near that standard at the moment.

Fans are losing patience with the winger, who clearly has no confidence in himself anymore.

  1. Palma still remains as a squad player for ourselves.
Whether that will remain the case will possibly depend upon how much he shows before January, to see if that will remain the case, for the second half of the season?
Just one poor showing on Sunday doesn’t determine his Celtic career either?
He still has to show his worth for holding a squad place for ourselves this season still, and only time will tell if that remains the case?
Personally believe that the lack of pace within the game of Palma is going to be a big issue for Palma to hugely improve upon, to try and work himself into the plans of Rodgers, and how are team are currently set up to be playing imo?
