Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos has claimed Celtic goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas and his agents are ‘checking the market’ for a move this January, but have made no progress at the moment.
Barkas has been at Celtic for 18 months now and has never really been considered a viable number one. The stopper has struggled with some of the basics at Celtic and it’s why the club went into the market during the summer and brought Joe Hart in from Spurs.
Barkas played for Celtic just before the winter break when a covid outbreak among the squad meant both Joe Hart and Scott Bain were not available against St Johnstone.
The goalkeeper helped Celtic to a victory in Perth, but there’s still no long term future at Celtic for him.
A move back to Greece would be beneficial for both Celtic and Barkas. Hopefully, there’s some movement in the coming days.
Hazard to Helsinki means Barkas 3rd GK choice for Celtic as we speak. Barkas agents are checking the market but no progress at the moment@CelticFC #Celtic #CelticFC #Barkas
