KRISTOFFER AJER has lifted the lid on his current lockdown situation and how the break could actually be good for himself and Celtic.

The Norwegian is back home with family after the club allowed many to return to their countries while the worst of the pandemic takes hold.

Ajer revealed Celtic have got him on his own personal daily training regime which he must keep up with. After all, there might not be much time in between games being called on and them actually happening.

Kris believes the time out will do his body the world of good after laying so many games this season for club and country.

“I was recently sent a statistic that stated I have played more minutes than any other player in Europe this season.” Ajer told RecordSport.

“So my legs need a break now.

“I’ve been sent a training program by Celtic and I run two or three sessions a day.

“Otherwise, I read a little. I’m incredibly good at reading 30 or 40 pages of a book before I put it away, but maybe I’ll finish them now!

“It’s actually been wonderful for me to come home and meet the family because I see them very rarely. So it’s nice to come home and take a little breather.”

The Celtic player made no mention of his agents comments which came at the start of this month. His advisor telling the media Ajer was looking to cut ties with Celtic this summer.

If that’s the case, there’s a real chance the big defender could be moved on before the next ball is kicked.

Celtic hold all the cards with any transfer currently when it comes to the defender.
