CELTIC DEFENDER Kristoffer Ajer is set to give his manager a massive boost after declaring himself fit not only for the Zenit game next week but Saturday’s Scottish Cup clash against Partick Thistle.

The Norweigan had to be substituted during Celtic’s disappointing defeat to Kilmarnock last week but Rodgers told the assembled media today that he will be fit for Zenit.

This means an Ajer/Simunovic partnership is the most likely against the Russian’s on Thursday with the news that Boyata will miss the next couple of weeks.
