Kristoffer Ajer refuses to blame the defence solely for more dropped points on Sunday and believes it has been a collective effort all season and putting it on the defenders would be wrong.

Speaking to CelticTV, Ajer defended the defenders:

“We attack as a team and we defend as a team. It’s easy for people to single out players but this is a team and it works both ways.

“We scored three goals collectively and conceded three at the other end, including two penalties. It’s all a collective.”

Celtic have dropped five points in their last two games. On Sunday they pulled it back and looked set to win the game only for there to be a final twist in the game.

Ajer is absolutely correct because the last goal came from the midfield not doing a good enough job at closing the Advancing Aberdeen down.

In the end, it’s cost us two points and we fall further behind in the title race. It’s going to be a long season and there’s still time to turn things around but right now, things aren’t looking good for the club.

It doesn’t get any easier in the coming weeks which is the big concern.

  1. Sorry Ajer, Duffy cost us the game at the weekend. Simply pass it to the goalie.
No, duffers as I call him, tries to be cute and hands them a goal, and to boot, the boy leaves him dead for pace. Disasterous day for him. Tries too hard with the passing, always looking for the world cup winning pass. The hands out palms up shown NO one wants a pass from him, we lose more possession with this type of pass from Duffers in particular.
Just be a decent defender, Clear your lines and slip the ball to Broony or Christie.
