KRISTOFFER AJER refused to fan media flames today from his Norway camp after he was asked about what he thought of Allan McGregor getting away with kicking him on Sunday.

The big defender was kicked by the thug goalkeeper during Celtic’s 1-0 win at the weekend but decided to take the high road with any questions asked.

Speaking to Nettavisen, Ajer said: “I have absolutely no comment. It must be decided by the Scottish Association.”

“I am just very pleased that we won 1-0 in such a big and important match. It was very important.”

The Norweigan defender took his place in the heart of the Celtic defence alongside Dedryck Boyata and helped shut out the hapless Ibrox side.

Anything that came into Celtic’s box was immediately dealt with and the both player’s put a good shift in to ensure their strikers seen very little of the ball.

It was widely accepted that McGregor should have been sent off for kicking Ajer – even Steven Gerrard called it ‘blatant’ in one interview. To see the goalkeeper get off without so much as a slap on the wrist is perplexing for even the most beleaguered of Scottish football commentators.
