KRISTOFFER AJER has been speaking ahead of Celtic’s second leg against Sarajevo with the bhoys holding a commanding lead over the Bosnian champions.
Ajer starred in the first leg and played very well even though he was out of position at right back for the evening. With Celtic low on options when it comes to the right side of defence, Neil Lennon took it upon himself to shuffle his deck and put the Norweigan in the spot.
Ajer has really grown at Celtic, especially over the past 12 months. He has gone from back up fringe star to first team pick. His attitude, passion and obvious talent coming to the forefront in a big way for the bhoys.
As he gets set to take his place in the side again for Wednesday’s second leg the player has given his take on Celtic’s new centre back Christopher Jullien, getting to the Champions League and his relationship with Neil Lennon as he talks to CelticTV.
Ajer on –
Christopher Jullien: “Jullien has been really good at training and on Saturday. That’s how it is to play for Celtic, there are high-quality players in every position. You have to be on the top of your game every single week”
Playing out of position: “I will always play where the gaffer puts me. That’s always going to be my thinking. I’ll always try and do my best wherever I am on the pitch. If I’m asked to play a different position, I’ll do that.”
Champions League Football: “We want #UCL football every single year and that’s our main target. We take it one game at a time and hopefully we can do it.”
Developing and Neil Lennon relationship: “I want to develop so many parts of my game. I think I’ve developed a lot since I’ve come in, but there’s loads more I want to improve.”
“The gaffer has been really good to me and has talked to me about what I can improve on. I work with John Kennedy after every session, and I’m enjoying every single moment here.”
Ajer has yet to play even a minute of Champions League football for the club and will be desperate to get the club into the group stage so he can feature.
