CELTIC are looking to offload a couple of their fringe players before the end of the window on Thursday evening.

One big earner who is unlikely to kick a ball for Celtic this season is Albian Ajeti. The striker’s move to the Hoops has been nothing short of a disaster. The Swiss frontman moved to Celtic as they kicked off the pandemic season under Neil Lennon.

Coming in to help Edouard on the goal front, Albian looked slow and lacked any real edge to his game. The hope he could be the poacher we had been looking for evaporated very quickly.

Last season, his contributions at the beginning of the season under Ange Postecoglou did help us to some wins, which ultimately contributed to winning the title.

Ajeti isn’t making match day squads anymore and will not be used this term unless there are major injuries.

As the window draws to a close, Anthony Joseph has delivered this update on the striker.

CeltsAreHere has learned the options Ajeti currently has are loan deals. Even at that, the player’s wages are an issue and Celtic will likely have to foot the bill for a decent amount of his salary in order to move him on before the deadline.

The player seems happy to stay at Celtic if he doesn’t believe a move elsewhere is beneficial.
