“The manager’s encouragement was also a big part of me coming here. As a football player, especially as a striker, you need confidence. I was happy that the gaffer called me, he made it easier for me to come and sign for Celtic.”
Ajeti made his debut in the UEFA Champions League qualifier against KR Reykjavik which produced a 6-0 win for the Hoops and in his next appearance, he scored his first goal for the club – a crucial winner in Celtic’s 1-0 defeat of Dundee United at Tannadice.
Albian Ajeti earned his first cap for Switzerland after coming on as a substitute against Iceland in a UEFA Nations League tie in September 2018. The Swiss ran out comfortable 6-0 winners with Albian netting the fifth, just six minutes after joining the action.
