Celtic striker Albian Ajeti has insisted he has ‘nothing to prove’ after adding to his Hoops goal tally with a double in yesterday’s 3-0 victory over Ross County.

As quoted by Sun Sport, the Swiss striker made a long-awaited return to the starting line-up and got his reward for that wait. Speaking after the game, Ajeti stated that with his performances in training, he isn’t looking to prove anyone wrong.

Ajeti said: “If we have the chances, then I’ll score the goals.

“I had nothing to prove because I’ve been training very well and working hard every day.

“I don’t need to prove anything to anyone.

“If I play and get starts in games, then I will score.

“We play with high intensity and high pressing where we create many chances, and we will score lots of goals.

“It doesn’t matter who scores, but if we have the chances, then I’ll be there to score the goals.

“I’m happy about any start I can get at Celtic. The performance was important for us, and we performed as well as we have for the last couple of weeks.

“We did a lot well today in what was a tough game, and I’m happy to help the team with goals.”

Despite what Ajeti has to say, I am sure he would have been going into that game looking to prove his point as to why he should be in Postecoglou’s thinking in the striker position.

Since coming to the club, fans haven’t been able to see much of a consistent period in the team for the striker as of yet, apart from his first few games as a Celtic player last season.

Hopefully, the two goals in yesterdays game can boost the frontman confidence and kick on from here, as several players under Ange have done so far.

  1. He Albian Ajeti is a top player Celtic have not seen that yet Celtic are more of a team now, as they should be on and off the park get to know what makes each other tic be good friends off and on the field share your positions and get greedy when your are ready and called into the side to the job great teams play free flowing football and each player knows when he is in form he gets game time but most of all the players are happy with there team mates we win as a team and when we lose we always come back as a team and try to make it better and fight harder and make it even harder for any team to beat us a HAPPY SQUAD IS A WINNING SQUAD THAT SHARE THE LOAD AND GET THAT WINNING MENTALITY AS A GROUP THAT SET OUT GOALS FOR THE SEASON AHEAD…keep the dead wood players away from training with the squad….
