NEIL LENNON took questions on Friday about Celtic’s current transfer state of play during his pre-match press conference.

The Irishman was as open as ever and when two particular names were thrown at him he did reveal the club had spoken to both.

Asked about Albian Ajeti and the chance of the striker coming in, the manager was being pragmatic as he’s promised players before who have changed their mind, but the Celtic gaffer admitted the club were still in talks with the Swiss striker.

Lennon told CelticTV: “Ongoing talks as well.

“I am not aware of how close we are in doing that, I know talks are ongoing.

“That’s my position at the minute, it may or may not happen, as is the case with a lot of deals we are trying to negotiate.”

One thing the nine in a row boss was sure on was his striker Vakoun Bayo is going out on loan to France:

“I am pretty sure Bayo is going to join Toulouse on loan.

“It would be good to get a couple more bodies and obviously you can name them in the UEFA line-up as well.”

Asked about Steven Fletcher, Lenny confirmed the club is still in talks with the player:

“Talks are ongoing at the minute. Nothing confirmed. We will just have to wait and see.”

With regards to the Ajeti deal, we reported yesterday that after returning home to mull over his future and talks with Neil Lennon over the phone, the Ajeti deal looks very much on. The player would be heading to Parkhead on loan with an option to buy if the deal goes through.
