Albian Ajeti was confirmed by Celtic on Thursday afternoon, bringing weeks of speculation to an end.

Now the Swiss striker is in the building, the hard work starts.

One big question among the Celtic support is; can Celtic’s new signing be registered for the game against KR Reykjavik on Tuesday and potentially make his debut?

The short answer is, yes, he can.

Although Celtic had to submit a Euro squad seven days before the tie (Tuesday 11th) they can register up to two new players 24 hours before kick-off.

We haven’t seen the registered squad as of yet, we’re unsure if Ajeti’s inclusion would mean some player dropping out. Presumably, Bayo leaving would have left space for the Swiss hitman to be registered without much fuss.

Ajeti has played in Europe for Basel, and he’s also played alongside Celtic midfielder Moi Elyounoussi. He could help provide assistance to Odsonne Edouard on the night and going forward. Neil Lennon fancies the 3-5-2 formation but might be reluctant to use it right now without bringing in another centre back.
