CELTIC TARGET Alexandro Bernabei has been left out of his club’s squad for their match against Atlético Tucumán on Wednesday night – it was rumoured it would be the case but it has been confirmed.
Celtic has already had a bid knocked back from Lanus, with journalist Seba Ongarelli claiming that the Argentinian side wants between £2.5 million and 3.75 million.
The club have accepted that the left-back will depart soon, with Celtic one of a few clubs interested in the player. It’s believed that Lanus will not block the player’s exit if the club’s valuation for the 21-year-old is met.
Celtic need to improve the left-back position, despite Greg Taylor starring many times in the second half of the season. It’s an exciting market to explore, with many top talents emerging from South America.
After the announcement of Carter-Vicker’s permanent arrival, Celtic are in advanced discussions with Jota. Postecoglou is keen to sign both players and add quality and depth to other areas of the team. The manager has warned it shouldn’t be too busy on the incoming front but admitted he hopes to move players that are of no use to him on to new clubs.
The potential signing seems exciting, but Celtic are yet to submit another offer.
