ALEXANDRO BERNABEI has told Celtic fans he has big ambitions at Celtic and also what the manager said to him when he arrived in Glasgow.

The Argentine defender has been in Scotland for around a week after flying from Argentina to complete the move to Celtic.

The Bhoys announced Alexandro on a five-year deal and he’ll now get to work under Ange Postecoglou. Earlier on Thursday, the left-back told CeltsAreHere.com that Ange was 90% the reason why he signed for the club after speaking to him on the phone. Speaking to the mainstream media and cited by SunSport, Bernabei spoke about breaking into the Argentina squad and landing silverware with Celtic. “I hope this will allow me one day to make another one of my dreams come true and play for the national team.

“First of all, we’ve a month of pre-season. Physically I’ll be OK. Nothing really intimidates me about the game.

“I spoke to the manager and he said, ‘Welcome, I hope your team-mates make you feel comfortable’.

“I am grateful to him and the club. Because it is a huge club, it opens the door to other players from other nationalities to come here and play.

“My ambition is to play in Europe. I won’t set a limit on that.

“I think Celtic is a champion. It’s a club that is used to championships and that’s the main reason why I’ve come here.”

The defender will have the chance to show the manager and the supporters what he’s all about during Celtic’s pre-season. There are six pre-season Celtic friendlies in July before the SPFL opener on the final day of the month.

Could Alexandro usurp Greg Taylor as Celtic’s number one left-back.
