CELTIC’S pursuit of a left back is no secret, but who will be the man who comes into the club this summer?

In the know journalist Mark Hendry told Celtic fans on Friday night, ‘it’s only a matter of time, before the Hoops sign Argentine left back Alexandro Bernabei.

His agent has now added more fuel to the fire by confirming Alexandro is likely to move to a European club in the coming weeks.

“We expect news in the next few weeks but he is calm. He has the ability to play & be successful in Europe. Now is not the time to discuss names but clubs are asking about him.” Bernabei’ agent told RecordSport.

His current club Lanus claimed in the same report they were not ‘required’ to sell the player.

Lanus: “If a suitable proposition arrives, we will study it. But at this moment, we aren’t not required to sell Alexandro.”

The bhoys are trying to secure Alexandro for around £2m, that’s around half of what Lanus are reportedly looking for.

It’s great to see Celtic actively pursuing positions the team needs. In many prior windows, we’ve been crying out for one position and somehow manage to sign a player totally unrelated. At one point, I thought Celtic were stockpiling midfielders.

Greg Taylor was great for the club next season, he needs to be pushed and we need a player in the Champions league with more pace. Is Alexandro the man?
