Celtic could be about to go back in for Charlton player Alfie Doughty after an initial bid was turned down for his services last week according to their manager Lee Bowyer.
Bowyer claimed the Celtic bid was thrown out and that Celtic reps were at the game against Swindon at the weekend to watch Alfie.
RecordSport report the Scottish Champions are about to go back in for the left-sided player in the hope they can get a deal done quickly.
Alfie is on the final year of his Charlton contract which means Celtic are not willing to pay over the odds for a player they can potentially sign in January for nothing. We have seen that tactic before and it’s blown up in our faces. If the club really do want Alfie then surely there’s a deal to be done.
Celtic can offer trophies and European football to Alfie, Celtic should know where they stand by the end of this week by all accounts.
