The Hoops were humbled in Europe once again, failing to remain even slightly competitive for considerable parts of last night’s match.

European hammerings are becoming common for the Bhoys, who can’t seem to find a solution to playing against bigger sides away from home.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has now conceded six goals in one game in each of his four Champions League campaigns in charge of Celtic.

His continental record with Glasgow’s green and white speaks for itself, but he needs to ensure his side moves on from their latest Euro thumping.

Full-back Johnston has revealed how his teammates will digest and reflect on last night’s loss, stating their honesty will help them clearly review the match.

“We’ve got to take things from it,” said the Canadian (BBC).

“We’ll watch it back, be honest with ourselves. That’s whats really good about this group and the coaching staff is that we are honest.

“And we’ve got to build on that, we’ve got understand what we did wrong, what they punished us with, and what we did right.

“There probably isn’t as many things we did right in this match unfortunately, but at the same time, there will be little things, and little moments, where, you know, okay, what’s a little kind of change that we need to do in terms of being more braver in our positioning, and being more compact defensively and things like that.”

A trip to Dingwall now beckons for Celtic, but in Europe, they will want to avoid another sobering night when they travel to Bergamo to play Serie A side Atalanta in a few weeks.

A similar result to Tuesday cannot be afforded against last season’s Europa League winners.

European hammerings need to be a thing of the past, and it is up to Rodgers and Co. to sort it out.
