CeltsAreHere attended this year’s AGM where the question of who would succeed Ian Bankier as Celtic chairman came up during the shareholder Q&A.

Ian Bankier will be stepping down as chairman when the clock strikes midnight on Hogmanay. We’re now into December with no news of his successor to date.

Mr Bankier responded to the question by revealing there was an ongoing process and that the London Stock exchange would get the announcement first in an official statement to the exchange.

Given the winds of time is now slender, all eyes are on the London stock exchange to find out who exactly will be our next chairman.

The smart money seems to be on an official return for Peter Lawwell, but nobody inside Celtic is giving anything away.

We know this current setup like inside hires. So if it’s not Peter, we’d imagine someone else within the club would be a reasonable assumption.

The Celtic board hasn’t changed in a long time. Most members surpassing the average life span of a board member in most businesses.

Dermot Desmond has huge respect for Peter Lawwell and the Irishman will have a massive say on who gets the gig.

The clock is ticking, we’re expecting an announcement sooner rather than later
