International football is always a time of high anxiety for Celtic fans but this one more than most with a vital Glasgow Derby on its way this Sunday.

We have been keeping a close eye on how the bhoys are getting on and if they’re coming through games unscathed.

One of Celtic’s most important players come Sunday will be Gorgios Giakoumakis. The striker has been in top form for the Hoops which won him his call up to the Greek national side.

The striker played over 70 minutes on Friday night for his country and had a goal chopped off through VAR.

Greece have a friendly against Montenegro on Monday night and reports in the country claim Giakoumakis could be rested for the game.

The Greek website Gazetta has hinted at changes for the game – with Gorgios taking a place on the bench.

Nothing can be confirmed at this point but it would suit Celtic if the big man was to sit this one out. We’ve had bad luck with injuries this season and the thought of losing someone important through a friendly would be painful.

Juranovic is set to be rested by Croatia and Nir Bitton has been afforded the opportunity to leave his international camp early to prepare.

The game kicks off Sunday at midday. A win for the Hoops would put them six points clear while a win for the Ibrox side will bring them dead level with Celtic going into the final run of games.

A draw would suit Celtic more than their Glasgow counterparts for sure but Ange will be going for the win.

We still have no word on Kyogo’s comeback, however, we do know the Japanese star was NOT part of a Celtic squad that took part in a bounce game last week.

Celtic fans are hanging their hat on the striker being back for the semi-final Glasgow Derby at Hampden.

Until then, Giakoumakis is 100% the man at Celtic when it comes to our main striking threat.
