Celtic ran out 5-1 winners at Celtic Park as Kilmarnock were handed the mother of all footballing lessons.

A double from Forrest along with goals for Christie, Eddie and Lustig made sure Celtic returned to the top of the SPFL in a day where Celtic’s opponents started in the unfamiliar number one position.

They say it’s tough at the top and Kilmarnock will vouch for that after today.

Celtic’s movement, passing, shooting was all on another level and the Ayrshire side just couldn’t live with the intensity Rodgers men were playing with.

Christie cannot stop scoring and curled a cracking free kick into the net. Edouard’s touch then finish was typical Eddie finish, both of Forrest’s goals were finished very well with a great ball from Izzy for James’ first and a tight angle after Christie was almost certainly fouled for a penalty saw the winger hit the roof of the net for his second. Lustig finished well from a set piece and looked over the moon to get on the scoresheet.
