Mousse Dembele has taken to Twitter in celebration after he won his fourth honour with a Celtic.

The Frenchman scores the second goal from the spot in an an afternoon which could have been very different if a reckless Motherwell challenge managed to snap his ankle.

Tweeting out to his followers the player was clearly ecastatic at the cup win but did mention the tackle.

Absolute shocker that this wasn’t a sending off.

  1. And all we are hearing is about sinky diving but feck all about this thats what annoys me about these biased reporters its all about the pen we get as if it was a dive theres contact so pen but even so this 1st half tackle player should walk and then not on park to give pen away

  2. Stinky was pulled by the arm by the player who should have been sent off earlier in the game for the horror tackle on Moussa. With Scotty, it was a clear penalty. He is not a diver. Defenders should not pull opposition players’ arms in the penalty area. If more referees were brave enough to award penalties for such incidents, we would see less jostling and arm or shirt pulling.

Throughout this season and last, Scotty should have had fouls for bad tackles against him, some in the penalty area, but he always did his best to stay on his feet and usually manages to do so. I have seen video clips of many of these. On one occasion a particular treferee afterwards defended his decision not to award a penalty by stating that if he had gone down he would have got the decision.

The Motherwell player should have been sent packing for the earlier tackle. He would thus have missed even more of the game. I don’t hear much fuss being made of that now. The Daily Record will be fuming as they openly hoped the Hoops would be beaten. Motherwell put up a really good show (defending) but they were deservedly beaten.

So what can we conclude. For Celtic, it is a no win situation. The media will say he should have gone down if he managed to stay on his feet.(I heard this comment for one of our players in the last couple of weeks) to get a decision OR we get the all too familiar reaction like today’s. There is plenty of evidence showing that he does not dive and it is shameful to accuse Scotty of this when clearly history shows that he does not. He is a player I admire very much for his honesty.

However, agendas abound in this petty little nation. If I didn’t know better ?? – I would think that folk with such agendas are trying to pressurise our player.

  3. Kipre should have seen red after that manky cowardly tackle on Mousa – FACT.
Mousa was very lucky not to have sustained a leg break – FACT
Scotty was pulled on his arm by the same manky coward just as he was about to shoot at goal – Fact.
A red card AND penalty was the correct decision – FACT
Craig Thomson is still a shite referee – FACT
