CELTIC’s Champions league opponents have sacked their manager ahead of next week’s tie in Belgium.

René Weiler has been given his marching orders after his dismal domestic start. Anderlecht are currently sitting 9th in the table after seven games.

The last straw for the Anderlecht board came at the weekend when the Champions were held to a 2-2 draw with Kortrijk away from home.

This led to protests by the Anderlecht fans who had enough of their teams underperforming.

Anderlecht now looks to appoint a new manager and are set to play Waasland-Beveren the weekend before welcoming Celtic next week.
