It has been quite the rise for Celtic defender Liam Scales this season. The now Ireland international has become a key player for Brendan Rodgers, and the latest transfer interest in him comes as no surprise.
He has stood out in more than most of the games he’s played this campaign. And according to Football Scotland, Belgian top-flight side Anderlecht are interested in him.
They have reportedly sent scouts to watch the 25-year-old over the past few weeks, and are considering making an offer for the player in January. Scales will enter the final year and a half of his Celtic deal next month, although his gaffer Rodgers has expressed his keenness to secure a new contract for his centre-half.
The latest interest from the team who sit second in the First Division A comes as no surprise. Scales’ form has been remarkable in 2023/24, and it will be intriguing to see how Celtic react if a notable offer comes in for the Irishman.
