Talented young Costa Rican frontman Andy Rojas is one of several players to have been linked with a move to Celtic this summer.

The teenager recently played at the Copa America, where he became the youngest player to represent his country at the tournament.

After returning from the Copa to his club Herediano, speculation of a move elsewhere has failed to die down.

Rojas has interest from several teams, with a few having made bids for his services already.

His club’s manager, Walter Centeno, is desperate to keep him and when recently asked about a move elsewhere, the youngster remained coy but did admit his dream destination for a transfer.

“I have to focus on being here (Herediano) until I am told something differently”, he said (RecordSport).

“I have to wait and see what happens. I’m calm, I’m still here in Costa Rica and the time will come, right now, I’m only thinking about being professional.

“But I have always dreamed of playing in Europe and I hope it comes true.”

Celtic could offer Rojas a move to Europe, as well as the opportunity to play eight games in the newly formatted Champions League.

The prospect wouldn’t come in as a key member of the squad, though, and rather, would slot nicely into a third-choice striker spot behind Kyogo and perhaps Adam Idah, if he signs permanently.

Reportedly available for £800,000, a move for Rojas falls into the ‘low risk, high reward’ category.
