Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has insisted that his side will go into Thursday’s game against Bayer Leverkusen with the same attacking intent they do in every fixture.

Since joining the club in the summer, Ange has been quick to get to work on the players within his squad, playing his style of football and inserting his philosophy.

Postecoglou insists that style will be no different for the Hoops, as they prepare to travel to Germany in a fixture which Celtic likely need a result in to keep their Europa League hopes alive.

“I feel we are in a good place to have a go at them. Can we take the game to them and come away with a result?” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“It’s really important that we do that in games like this.

“Otherwise, it’s all bravado without any substance.

“The reason we play as we do is because that is the kind of team we want to be.

“We want to be that against everyone. If you shy away when the stakes are highest, and you are up against better quality, then players would lose belief in what I am telling them.

“If we fall short, we fall short. We get back up and go again.

“But changing our approach or trying to be more conservative goes against the grain of what I am trying to teach my players.”

Last time the two sides faced off at Parkhead in September, Leverkusen came away 4-0 victors on a disappointing night for the squad.

Although we actually put in a decent performance that night, since then, Ange and his squad feel like they have turned a corner and really kicked on in all competitions.

In order to reach the next round of qualification for the Europa League, we either need Ferencvaros to pick something up off Real Betis on Thursday or get at the very least get a point in Germany.

It will be interesting to see how the squad fairs against another tough opposition with the improvements we have seen compared to the last time the sides faced a few months ago.
