I attended Sunday’s post-match conference with Ange Postecoglou and inevitably Kyogo’s fitness was a huge topic of conversation.

Ange seemed reluctant to give any sort of time frame on Kyogo’s return but also flat out refused to rule the striker out of the cup final on Sunday.

Ange Talking to CeltsAreHere and other media outlets.

The Celtic manager told CeltsAreHere.com Kyogo was desperate to play in the final and if it was up to the Japanese star, he’d certainly be starting.

In the same breath the Hoops gaffer intimated to us that the physio team at Lennoxtown didn’t see as quick a comeback for our star man.

Reading between the lines — I believe Ange already knows whether Kyogo can play our not and he’s not letting on.

Having consumed almost every Ange Postecoglou pre and post match press conference since the manager has come in — I’ve noticed he sometimes like to be very vague about injuries and players returns. The Australian has also told us players wouldn’t be due back only for them to turn up in the Starting XI.

If I were to take a guess — and it would be a guess — I’d say we’re dealing with another League Cup final without a recognised striker.

In 2019, we rode our luck and managed a fantastic win against The Rangers. We’ll need to dig deep to beat Hibernian:
