Ange Postecoglou could be set to reintroduce Tom Rogic to the starting XI this afternoon if his midweek comments are anything to go by.

Aberdeen are coming to town in the hope of catching Celtic cold after their Thursday exploits.

The manager told the media before the Leverkusen tie that Tom wasn’t ready to play against the German’s but could be in contention come Sunday.

Speaking at his press conference on Wednesday afternoon, the manager told Celtic Youtube:

“Tommy’s close but we’ll probably leave him for the weekend. Carl is probably a couple of days behind him”

Given Bitton went off injured on Thursday, Tom’s reemergence could be timely. The Israeli picked up a knock but is being assessed ahead of today’s game.

If Rogic is fit enough to start, we could see McGregor back deeper with the Australian and David Turnbull sitting in midfield.

When Ange took the bhoys to Pittodrie he opted for a Bitton start as a tactical measure – it will be interesting to see what the gaffer is thinking.

Carl not being back is a blow, however, we’ve seen the manager start players he previously said we’re still injured – if Carl has had a good week then who knows.
