Ange Postecoglou has been speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the Hearts game on Saturday where Celtic can effectively win the league with a victory.

Although it won’t be mathematically possible — a win with Celtic’s superior goal difference would be more than enough to see them home.

Speaking about the Glasgow Derby draw on Sunday — Ange revealed the game took a physical and mental toll on the players as you would expect. The Australian gave the whole squad Monday and Tuesday off to relax and recover from the game before getting back down to business on Wednesday.

“After last weeks game, there was quite a bit of emotion and physical exertion on the day” Ange told CelticTV.

“So we have the bhoys a couple of days off just to sort of recover and sort of refresh them a little bit”

Ange is a great man manager and he’s obviously seen the players in the dressing room after the game and recognised the need to unwind a bit before the bhoys look to get the title over the line.

It’s been a long season and learning process for both the manager and the players. Nobody would’ve believed we’d be in this position with three games to go. It’s testament to the manager and the squad for really rising to the challenge under difficult circumstances.

The bhoys would have been laying low although we did see a picture of Giakoumakis at the airport on Sunday night. Perhaps heading home for a short trip before rejoining the squad midweek.

The players are refreshed and they’re ready to go ahead of the final three games of the season.
