CELTIC travels to Clackmannanshire on Saturday as the team looks to progress to the next round of the Scottish Cup, Alloa is the team that stands in the Hoops’ way.

With Celtic’s top goal scorer Kyogo Furuhashi sidelined with an injury and Daizen Maeda due to leave the country on international duty Postecoglou should turn to Giorgos Giakoumakis to lead the line for the evening kick-off.

The manager could and probably should spring a surprise and also name Johnny Kenny on the bench and give him the opportunity to influence the game.

The Greek striker was the top scorer in the Eredivisie in the previous campaign and was brought to Celtic Park to continue his goal-scoring form. As of yet, it has not gone the way anyone would have planned with the striker’s first six months being hampered with injuries.

Johnny Kenny has been brought over this window after an impressive first season as a professional footballer.

With half of the striking department to be unavailable, it is likely the former Sligo Rovers man will be back-up for the next couple of weeks. The opportunity gifted to the striker is a real chance for him to force his way into Postecoglou’s thoughts.

If either of the striker’s scores today it will instil confidence into themselves, the team, and the fans.
