Ange Postecoglou has confirmed he and his squad won’t be taking any breaks while the winter shutdown is in play.

The Hoops get to take a breather ahead of schedule, but the work on the training ground continues, along with Ange’s pursuit of squad reinforcements.

Asked if he and the team would get some time off while the winter break was on, the Celtic manager replied “No breaks,” he told CelticTV.

“We keep cracking on. There is plenty to do.

“We’ve been working on it for a while, knowing that we needed to strengthen the squad during January.

“This gives us a chance, with no games, to push along with that. Hopefully we get some good news in the New Year and bring some reinforcements in.”

It’s exactly what Celtic fans want to hear.

The bhoys are six points off the pace and our squad is depleted with injuries. We need to make sure the players are in the best place they can be when football returns in mid-January.

When it comes to transfers, this could be the biggest January winds for quite some time. If we get it right, there’s a fantastic opportunity to push the league title all the way. If we get it wrong, we could be toiling by the end of January.

The board must back Ange in the window.
