Celtic are not the finished article, we all know that and Ange is already planning his January window in the hope of getting deals done as early as possible.

The Hoops had a frantic summer window where there were a lot of incomings and outgoings and while we brought in a lot of new faces – our squad depth is an issue.

A couple of injuries and our whole squad suffers.

Ange has been working with his hands tied behind his back since coming in late in the summer. It’s been frantic and we have to remember he’s only been here a little over three months.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and we have to be patient with this rebuild.

The Celtic manager has made it clear he wants new faces in the door.

“It’s no secret we still need to add to the squad. We were never going to do it in one transfer window, especially when you look at the significant exits we had.” Ange told RecordSport.

“It was always going to be a two or three window process so we’re looking at January at the moment.

“We know the areas we need to bolster. It’s about getting more players that I believe can play the type of football we want to play.

“There is a mentality attached to that. It’s about the type of personalities who are going to be brave and really ambitious.

“That’s what we’re trying to target. We will definitely be adding something to the squad.

“Japan is one of the markets we’ll be looking at. Obviously I know it really well and they will get to the end of their season, which is a good time if there’s anyone who will fit into our set-up.

“We will be looking everywhere. The last window was frantic. This time we want to be planning well in advance.

“We’ve identified targets and begun discussions before we get to January so that we can conclude deals a lot quicker than we did in the previous window.”

It’s encouraging and it’s really positive Ange is looking at the Japanese market. Kyogo has proved there are great talent to be had at decent prices.

Celtic need the right type of players and a winning mentality instilled in the squad. We’re a long way off from the type of mentality we had when we were hoovering up titles and league cups.

  1. We need a big CH one that can run and put his self about we need to play with a LH a CH a RH three defending at the back all game when our LB and RB move up and attack that way we have the diamond shape of 3 fit defenders at the back that block and break up attacks before they hit our box and if in doubt kick it out and regroup…

  2. By January it will be preparation for next season as there will be nothing to play for. Will the board release money to Ange knowing they might sack him in a matter of weeks? Will players want to sign knowing the manager might change? All valid questions.

  3. A squad that knows all its own strenghths and weeknesses and plays for each other. A big centre forward that wee men can supply and feed off of. A striking midfielder that’s not afraid of being tackled, getting up and chasing after losing the ball. A centre back, who can marchal the defence and protect the keeper and tell the midfield they are getting sloppy. What we all want may differ from what Angeroo wants. As long as he has a plan he can conjour after Xmas. That will be good

And directors who can direct money onto the field of play instead of selling it for profit. Or just lining their pockets. Revolution should begin not only with the players, but in the boardroom first.
