ANGE POSTECOGLOU gave Bosun Lawal his first senior minutes in Celtic’s 5-0 win over Morton on Saturday.
The Irish defender came on with a couple minutes left to play, and saw out the match. Celtic were already 5-0 up when Buson came on, and didn’t have much time to impress, but nevertheless, it was good to see him get out onto the pitch.
Ange Postecoglou has said he’ll only give players the chance to impress on the pitch, if they prove to him in training they deserve the chance. Lawal has been a standout in the B team games, and has clearly been impressing in training.
Lawal is the second B team star to make their competitive debuts, with Rocco Vata also appearing a few games back when Celtic played Hibs.
It’s great to see players take that first step, but the next challenge is the continually remain in the squad and continue making appearances for the side.
