Ange Postecoglou has played a fast one this week! Having tipped both Kyogo and McGregor to MAYBE make the Aberdeen game – both of them start against Bayer Leverkusen.

Kyogo has not played for Celtic since the defeat at Ibrox – sustaining an injury away on international duty with Japan.

McGregor hasn’t been in the squad since the win to Ross County at Celtic Park and both players being included is huge.

Giakoumakis is on the bench and we’ll be hoping his warm up goes to plan.

Celtic look a lot stronger than they have lately but the challenge ahead is still massive.

Leverkusen are second in the Bundesliga and have a talented young side. The Hoops will need to make home advantage count in this competition or face an early exit.

After losing matchday one in Seville, getting a result tonight could go a long way.

We have to hope Kyogo is 100% and isn’t being risked for the sake of it.

The Aberdeen game is huge on Sunday for Celtic and while Europe is important the league is absolutely vital.

Celtic team v Bayer Leverkusen: Hart, Ralston, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Montgomery, McGregor, Turnbull, Abada, Rogic, Jota, Kyogo

Subs: Bain, Barkas, Scales, Bitton, Giakoumakis, Ajeti, Soro, McCarthy, Urhoghide, Shaw, Welsh

  1. To say they are rank is an understatement. Got to be the worst defence in years, not one fit to wear the Hoops. What the fk do our coaches get paid for ? Ange needs to change them before he is gone. The forward play exciting as usual but we need to radically improve the defence . Great to Kyogo back.
