ANGE POSTECOGLOU was diplomatic in his response when asked about journalists midweek talking about complacency creeping into Celtic’s game after going on a winning run.

The manager fielded the question at the time by making it clear if any of his players thought they’d already won the league, they’d stick out like a sore thumb in training.

The manager backed that up after the 7-0 win against St Johnstone at the weekend when asked to comment on those who maybe thought Celtic would take their foot off the gas,

“I understand that. I mean it’s human nature that they might think that.” Ange told BBC Sportsound.

“But like I say, they’re not watching us train.

“You guys aren’t there every day like I am. And if anyone watched our training session yesterday, they would have seen there was definitely no complacency.

“You know, I’ve just got to sort of hold them back a little bit so we don’t go too hard to training because they want this.

“They can taste it. The players, they want to create something special for themselves, this group, and they’re not gonna let it go now.”

Ange has been clear, he wants full commitment from his players. The Australian has also cultivated a competitive edge in this Celtic side. Everyone is fighting for their position and nobody is taking their foot off the gas at this stage of the season.

It would be criminal if all that good work done by Celtic earlier this season was undone by complacency.

Given the manager’s mentality, there’s just no chance of that creeping into our game. We have a hungry team, desperate for success.
