Giakoumakis has been ruled out of the Glasgow Derby on Sunday leaving the striking hopes on the returning Kyogo Furuhashi.

The Japanese striker has still to start a game since recovering from a long term injury. It’s not ideal at all Giakoumakis isn’t available – the Greek striker would’ve likely started the game at Hampden.

Now Ange has a big decision to make.

Speaking to Celtic fan media podcast GIGPOD this afternoon, the manager confirmed Kyogo will again be in the squad but he will not be available for the full game.

It leaves Ange with a bit of a predicament.

Does he play Kyogo from the outset hoping the bhoys can get the game won in the first 60 minutes and then take the Japanese star off. Or does he keep Kyogo on the bench for later in the game in case it looks like we’re going for extra time?

The starting XI would have been pretty much set in stone if Giakoumakis was fit, but this does put the cat among the pigeons. It will be interesting to see how Ange handles this.
