CELTIC were forced into playing their Europa League match at 3.30 pm on a Tuesday due to COP26 and Glasgow rivals due to play their tie on Thursday night.
After what Hart described as a “solid” and “fantastic” performance at Celtic Park he thanked the Celtic supported who had attended the game
“To have this place full we could only win otherwise we would let the people down.” Hart told Celtic TV
The official attendance was 50,427 – remarkable given the circumstances.
Heading into the game fans were unsure what turnout to expect with many supporters due to being at work or attending school/college/university.
In another post-match interview, Ange Postecoglou had a message for workplaces and schools;
“I apologise to all the employers who had little productivity today because they were missing people and schools that may have been empty but they come here, they create an energy and we have to match that with our football and when you have that and it has happened here in the past for sure, you become a real formidable force.” The Celtic manager told STV.
It was a great turnout and atmosphere this afternoon, all that was missing were the disco lights.
Celtic fans are incredible and Tuesday is just another example of things.
