Ange Postecoglou and his coaching team are in attendance at Celtic Park this evening for the B team Glasgow Derby.

The Glasgow rivals go head to head in the Scottish Lowland League and if the players needed any extra incentive to go out and give it their all, the manager watching from the stands will have given them all an extra boost.

Another notable attendee on the night is Peter Lawwell who took his seat in the director box alongside former colleague and his successor Michael Nicholson.

Celtic have had a successful inaugural season in the Scottish Lowland League – the young bhoys getting vital experience and game time. It was something that had been seriously lacking at the club since the reserve league disbanded, made even worse by pandemic football and the inability to arrange bounce games.

The season has gone so well the two clubs have been voted back into the league for next season.

Tommy McIntyre has looked to implement Ange’s style of football and prepare the bhoys for the rigours of first team football. Ange has also ensured the young lads have had training with the full team. It’ll be interesting to see who has caught Ange’s eye and if any of the bhoys make the permanent jump in the summer.

  1. For far too long the young lads, with a few notable exceptions, have been overlooked in favour of buying in ready-made players, time to change, promotion from within, as they did with the quality st gang back in big jock’s day.
