ANGE POSTECOGLOU has had enough of talking about VAR and refused to be drawn on Celtic’s goal that was chopped off in the second half.

Liel Abada looked to have put the bhoys 3-1 up before a VAR intervention. It took around four minutes for the goal to be ruled offside, with the referee even having to go over to the screen to rule on it.

Celtic fans inside the stadium couldn’t believe it when the referee was ordered to go check the screen for an offside, something highly unusual. We would later find out the referee was to go over and rule if the Livingston defender had intentionally played the ball and brought Liel back into an offside position.

Liel was offside for the initial pass but then comes off the head of the Livi defender; Liel is in behind and scores the goal.

Asked about the decision after the game, Ange wouldn’t be drawn, and after saying he would stop talking about VAR, he was a man of his word.

Speaking to Celtic TV, the Hoops manager said – “Nah, I won’t be,” he said when asked if he’d assess or analyse the decision.

“I said a few weeks ago I wouldn’t talk about VAR anymore.

“They made the decision and we need to take it.”

Celtic won the game 2-1 in the end. It was a game that was nervier than it needed to be. The Hoops were in control for the most part and reduced Livingston to just three shots on goal the entire evening.

  1. I’m sure the time taken to come to these decisions is false also … how can it possibly take that long … only cynical reason being that it allows them that huge piece of extra time on at the end to put pressure on , and allow the other team a chance of an equaliser / penalty .
