Ange Postecoglou and his team are looking to defend their title, having won it last year, making it the Aussie boss’ first piece of silverware in Scotland.

Speaking ahead of the match, the Celtic boss has said that he won’t be treating the final as any other game, and neither will his players. It’s a chance to add some history to the club and make it 21 League Cup trophies that have returned to Paradise.

He’s told his players to embrace the occasion, saying to Viaplay:

“I’m not one who tells the players to treat it like any other week because it’s not. That is the reality, you need to embrace that side of it, inevitably there’s going to be more attention even within their more circles.

“Players will feel more attention, whether that is around cup final tickets or the people who love them feeling more anxious in the lead-up and they need to understand it’s part of the week’s journey.

“That’s the same for me as a manager. What you try to do it you make sure it doesn’t hamper your preparation to be in the best possible condition come gameday.”

It’s going to be an exciting encounter, one which many fans are looking forward to.

Celtic are in a great place and have a fully fit squad, with David Turnbull, and Aaron Mooy spotted back in training this week. Confidence is high among the support, but Postecoglou won’t allow his teams to take their foot off the gas.
