ANGE POSTECOGLOU offered some thoughts on the goalkeeping situation at Celtic Park and certainly didn’t rule out bringing a new face in to compete for the number one jersey.

Joe Hart has been heavily speculated to come in and solve Celtic’s goalkeeping problem but there’s no immediate deal on the horizon.

Asked about the situation in the mainstream media press conference on Friday, the manager is deeply aware the problem needs to be solved.

Bain got the nod in Denmark with Barkas being dropped after the first leg of the tie where he made a fundamental error leading to the Danish clubs equaliser at Celtic Park.

Scott is likely to get the nod at Tynecastle, we can’t see Barkas getting back in so quickly now.

The number one gloves are likely to stay with Bain until we bring someone else into the club.

The Scottish goalkeeper is capable but he’s not a Celtic number one – over the few years he’s been here – Bain hasn’t shown enough.

  1. Yes …..
Priority no1 A New Goalkeeper ….as quickly as possible ….or our season will be over very quickly ….
A Right back to follow …
Hopefully Ko Itakura from Man City for our back four and another Top Qualty Striker if Eddie leaves …

  2. Nonsense! In Bain’s first season after he replaced a very fragile Craig Gordon, Bain was magnificent!
His performances reverberated throughout the defence and rest of the team.
More to the point, the same short-minded,easily led fand who read the garbage in many so called Celtic columns, were singing his praises and in full agreement that he was in fact the #1 goalie for us.
Bain broke a bone in his hand and lost his place, we brought back big Fraser, originally to allow Bain to recover, and Bain was never going to oust Forster!
Maybe some of you moronic fans got behind a struggling player once in a while we’d see some results.
Short memories and esily led sheep who have zero ability to make your own minds up or draw your own conclusions!
