ANGE POSTECOGLOU is adamant that Celtic needs to strengthen further ahead of the transfer deadline at the end of the month.

After watching his side book a place in the League Cup Final at the weekend, the Celtic boss made no bones about what needs to be done between now and the end of the window.

“We need to strengthen further, we need to keep getting stronger,” Ange told CelticTV.

“None of the three boys we’ve signed played on Saturday, but they’re going to add to us and hopefully, we’re going to get another one in the door before the end of the window.

“We worked hard at the squad this year. Last year we had a core of players who had delivered, but I just felt we needed a stronger squad to be able to tackle what we need to tackle at this club, trying to win three domestic trophies and being in the Champions League.

Ange is also prepared to see exits before all is said and done this month. The Celtic manager will be aware of interest in some of his players. Even though he’s not speaking about it publicly, Ange has an idea of who could be shipping out.

“There’s always the possibility guys might move on for whatever reason. It’s not about me pushing anyone out the door, everyone has decisions to make. If something comes on the table one of them feels strongly about we’ll discuss it, but right now I’m more about bringing in than letting them go.”

Celtic are in the market for a striker. The deal for Cho Gue-sung went cold last week and with two weeks left of the window, it will be interesting to see where they go from here.

Ange and Celtic have been brilliant in the market together over the past 18 months. There’s a certain amount of confidence they can get it right again.

Celtic are currently nine points clear at the top of the SPFL, in the League Cup final and they kick off their Scottish Cup campaign against Morton at the weekend.
