The bhoys are back at Lennoxtown being out through their paces ahead of the new campaign.

We’re around a month away from the SPFL kicking off. For the first time in a long time the Hoops will not have to take part in any European qualifiers. Having these games so early in the season can be ridiculously tough as the bhoys get their sharpness back.

Winning the league last season means all Celtic need to worry about is their pre-season fixtures and getting up to speed during the friendly ties.

Ange Postecoglou told Celtic TV the pre-season fixtures take on extra significance with no European qualifiers to be played: “Those games will be super important.

“Once we get to the first round of the Premiership we know that right up until the break in November we’re going to be going at it.

“So we want to be ready – and we have to be ready.”

Ange made it clear birthing can stand still this term.

He added: “For me, it was really important that when the players came back this year that they understood that nothing stands still.

“There’s constant evolution.

“We want to be better every year and I think seeing a couple of new faces on the staff is going to help that.”

Not everyone was back at Lennoxtown on Monday. A contingent of players who were out on international duty have a bit of extra time off to recover and relax before joining up with the squad to head out to Austria.

The bhoys have 6 pre-season fixtures that take them to Austria, the Czech Republic and Polan as well as back in Glasgow. The Hoops support have their season tickets activated for games against Norwich and Blackburn.

It all begins again, and we can’t wait!
