Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has continued to state the message that he is looking for early additions in the January transfer window.

With just one game to go before the winter break and the window opening on the 1st of January, Postecoglou will slowly be turning his focus to the additions set to join next month.

The 56-year old confirmed that he and his backroom staff have been working on signings as he stated that he is hoping to have his new arrivals in the door ahead of his squad returning to training during the winter break.

“Obviously, now we know there is some certainty around fixtures, and when our first game back is, we will come up with a plan,” he said as quoted by the Glasgow Times.

“Hopefully, we will get some of our guys who are injured back on the training pitch, which would be great, and also bring in a few.

“We are still with the intent of trying to bring them early and if we can. From my perspective, it would be ideal if we can get them in from when we restart training and give them a bit of lead into the second half of the year.”

He added: “It’s challenging, but I don’t think I’ll go through another transfer period like the first one; we had to bring in 12; that was something unique.

“This time, I can be a bit more measured. We have been working at it a lot longer; we kind of know what we want, but it’s still a challenge because it’s not an exact science. Hopefully, we get them in; we get the ones we want in and get them in early.”

It has been a troublesome few months for Postecoglou in terms of squad depth with the number of injuries he has had to face within his group of players.

The January window is coming at an excellent time for the Hoops boss, and he seems to be prepared for what is to come, which is definitely a positive given the lack of preparation in previous winter windows.

Hopefully, we can see Ange’s wishes come true with some early signings in the window.
