CELTIC boss Ange Postecoglou has shrugged off reports linking him to the vacant managerial position at Tottenham, emphasising that his sole focus remains on the upcoming games, including the Scottish Cup Final.
Whilst the Australian coach has been linked with various positions in England throughout the season, the Tottenham rumours seem to have gained more traction, with the club reportedly considering him as a top candidate. However, Postecoglou remains undeterred, dismissing any speculation and directing his attention towards the immediate challenges at hand.
In response to the links, Postecoglou reaffirmed his commitment to Celtic, stating that his priority is to focus on the team and deliver positive results. He acknowledged the expectations of the Celtic faithful, who undoubtedly want their manager fully concentrated on the club’s success.
“Yet I’m still here”, quoted by Football Scotland.
“It doesn’t. I’ve been asked about it before and what’s important for me is the here and now. I’ve never planned anything, my ambitions are to enjoy tomorrow and then win a cup final. It’s not every year you get to win a treble.
“If anyone thinks I’m thinking about anything else they don’t know me.
“I’ve said before, what the Celtic boss want is their manager to be concentrating on what is important for them.
“I’d hate to think our supporters want me to be thinking of anything other than having a great game tomorrow and enjoying the day.”
The Celtic boss is focused on the Hoops’ treble push, as he looks to complete the season with all three domestic trophies where they belong, at Celtic Park.
He’s also looking into the summer, to identify what areas he can improve on, as he looks to bring European success to the club.
