CELTIC have landed former City Group scout Joe Dudgeon for the first team. [Football Scotland]

In 2015, after a youth career with Manchester United, he retired from football while playing for Hull City, following loan stints with Barnsley and took his first steps into coaching and scouting.

The highly rated scout has previously worked alongside Mark Lawwell as the Scouting Account Manager handling international recruitment with New York City and Melbourne City.

He’s also worked with Manchester City, helping to pick out top, young talents for the Premier League club.

Celtic’s connection with the City Group continues to expand with the latest scouting appointment.

He has some coaching experience, too, working within the Northern Ireland youth set-up.

His appointment may not be the last before the summer, with the ever-reliable Mark Hendry writing that Celtic are looking to add more staff to their scouting department, with additions likely before the summer.

Ange Postecoglou and his team are scouring the world for hidden gems, attempting to lure them to Parkhead to play for Celtic and help the team progress in the Champions League.
